Tomas Lee

Executive Chef Tomas Lee has had a successful carrier spanning all types of cuisine from fine dining to fast-casual. A seasoned culinary artist, Lee graduated from the Culinary Institute of America and went on to work in multiple top restaurant groups in New York, San Francisco, Dallas, and ultimately Atlanta.

"As a fine dining Chef you often get pulled away from your roots, Takko is my way of exploring my Korean roots and sharing it with the world in a new way"

After the economic downturn in 2008, he left fine dining and rediscovered his Korean roots by opening Hankook Taqueria, a mashup of traditional Korean flavors blended with familiar Mexican dishes. Lee made a name for himself at his hole-in-the-wall taco shop – and was discovered by Food Network, Food & Wine Magazine, and Men’s Health. He has also been featured by Alton Brown and Guy Fieri, to name a few spotlights.

As Takko’s executive chef, Lee aims to combine traditional Korean meats and spices with the easy-to-eat style of tacos and burritos, all while creating unexpected, mouthwatering dishes. Simple, balanced, fresh, and flavorful are the hallmarks of his cuisine.
